Empowering Agricultural Energy Transition: Backup Storage System
Officially Commissioned for Austrian Farm
A backup energy storage system tailored for an Austrian farm has recently been delivered and officially commissioned. The project is designed to provide more reliable power security for agricultural operations while enhancing on-site renewable energy consumption, representing another successful deployment of a PV-plus-storage solution in the European agricultural sector.
The project was completed through close collaboration between Pytes and Solar Energy. From initial system design and equipment selection to on-site installation, commissioning, and grid-connection validation, Solar Energy delivered professional execution and full technical support throughout the process, ensuring regulatory compliance and on-time project delivery. Both parties maintained the end-user's interests as the top priority throughout, resulting in a system delivered in optimal condition and receiving positive feedback from the farm owner.

The project adopts an integrated PV and storage architecture, with the following core equipment configuration:
Battery Bank: 24 × Pytes V5°α
PV Modules: 109 × Suntech 450Wp
Battery Inverters: 3 × Victron MultiPlus-II 45kVA
Solar Charge Controllers: 3 × Victron MPPT 450/200
Grid-Tie Inverter: 1 × Fronius 7.5kW
All components have been precisely matched and thoroughly commissioned to establish a complete energy flow — from PV generation and storage regulation to load supply and surplus feed-in to the grid. This integrated approach ensures self-consumption for the farm while enabling seamless grid interaction.

Based on the farm's load profile and backup duration requirements, the project team selected the Pytes V5°α batteries and Victron Energy inverters as the core solution. As a Victron officially listed battery brand (see https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:pytes), Pytes enables deep communication and precise control coordination with Victron inverters, ensuring robust system stability and long-term reliability for the end user. In this project, 24 battery units are connected in parallel, delivering a total capacity of 122.88kWh—precisely matching the farm's backup and peak-shaving needs for small to medium-sized loads. Intelligent Cloud-Based Management & Remote Control:Supports remote data viewing and parameter adjustment via the cloud, allowing O&M teams to monitor battery status without on-site visits—significantly enhancing operational efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
Ultra-Long Cycle Life for Assured ROI:Designed for 6,000+ deep cycles, delivering predictable long-term returns and effectively lowering replacement and maintenance costs over the entire system lifecycle.
The Pytes-Victron combination has been proven across numerous projects, with its stability and compatibility establishing a solid foundation for long-term reliable system performance. The PV modules are mounted flat on the rooftop, making optimal use of available building space and solar exposure to achieve efficient energy harvesting and conversion.
