A new solar-plus-storage energy system featuring Pytes batteries has been successfully deployed at a dairy farm in Zimbabwe, helping ensure stable electricity supply for daily farm operations.

The system combines 12 Pytes E-Box 48100R lithium batteries, delivering a total storage capacity of 61.44 kWh, with a 20 kW inverter from Deye and a 20 kW rooftop solar array. The installation allows the farm to generate clean electricity during the day and store excess solar energy for use when solar production drops or grid power becomes unreliable.
Reliable Energy for Agricultural Operations
Modern dairy farms rely heavily on electricity to support essential processes such as milking equipment, milk refrigeration, water pumping, and facility lighting. Any power interruption can directly affect production efficiency and product quality.
By integrating solar generation with battery storage, the farm now benefits from a more stable and reliable energy supply. During the day, the rooftop solar array powers farm operations while charging the battery system. When solar production decreases or power demand increases, the stored energy is released to maintain continuous operation.
This solar-plus-storage solution helps reduce reliance on the grid while ensuring that critical agricultural equipment can operate without interruption.

Supporting Sustainable Farming
In regions like Zimbabwe, where solar resources are abundant, integrating photovoltaic generation with energy storage offers a practical path toward more sustainable and resilient farming operations.
The installation demonstrates how farms can effectively utilize available rooftop space for solar power generation while leveraging energy storage to improve energy management. In addition to increasing energy independence, the system also helps reduce operating costs and carbon emissions.
Scalable Energy Storage for Growing Demand
The Pytes E-Box 48100R battery system is designed to provide flexible and scalable energy storage for residential, commercial, and agricultural applications. As energy needs grow, additional battery units can be integrated to expand storage capacity.
This project highlights the growing role of solar-plus-storage solutions in modern agriculture, providing farms with reliable power, improved energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
